Just a vent so as to not scream bloody murder...

To my almost 7th grade HONORS LEVEL student...If the vocabulary word is not in the text book, what do you possibly think would be the next logical thing to do?

This is what happens when the digital assignment is not directly created by the textbook company.

I know. I was helping a student whose digital textbook was not working. He took a 2/32 instead of looking up answers on the Internet. They were very simple vocabulary words that could be found in any dictionary.

Iím right there with you! It was hard enough to get them to physically go get a dictionary, itís ridiculous today. I must say it once every ten days...I think the kids can give the speech now.

How lazy are you to not use the internet for a dictionary? Speech to text means you donít even have to try to spell it to look it up! Grrrr.

I go the sarcastic route.

ďIf only someone would invent a device in which you could input a word and have it defined for you.Ē

My kids are 1:1 Chromebooks. They would ask me things all the time as they sat in front of their open, online Chromebook.

"look it up" (which came from my high school teacher dad) and I had to PHYSICALLY look it up. My kids hadn't heard of that! Had they heard of GOOGLE IT? Yes!! (and I surveyed my 2nd grade class!)
