#1 local statement on a volleyball court and a Paddle Out by a lot of surfers to make the same statement (lifeguards and police helped them get there)

DD (13) gave her dad an early Father's Day gift. She planned it, made it and bought the frame with her own money.

It brought tears to my eyes! The left is the photo she used and the right is her gift.

Surprise week long visit from my ds and granddaughter. I was over the moon.
She wakes up smiling, goes down smiling - and is an all around happy 8 month old!

We took a day trip to the nearest beach. It was so relaxing and exactly what I needed!

Amiga, that mask picture is too cute!

This is my side porch. Technically it is a carport, but we park in the garage, so it is a sitting area. The screen door leads to the front porch.

Pic of a fox crossing my backyard. Sometimes in the evening I sit on the deck and watch a family of fox playing in the back part of the yard. 🦊

I really love our new local coffee place (so much so that they know me by name when I walk in).

Their motto is “drink coffee, do good.”

Most recently, they saw a need and overnight created a donation program that provided a free breakfast to anyone in need, no questions asked during the stay at home order.

DH and I ran away from home last Sunday. Since March 12, we had not been anywhere but Kroger, one haircut, and various take out curbside pick ups.

We drove 40 miles to Williamsburg, VA. We walked around William and Mary's campus then stopped at one of the best bbq places around, Pierce's Pitt BBQ for takeout on the way home.

I was thrilled to find out that one of my favorite coastal trails had opened up again. This is a picture of the Pacific Ocean with the Mexican Coronado islands in the distance.

DD25 and her fiance escaped DC last weekend and stayed at an Airbnb on a working farm near Shenandoah. The owners had three very friendly dogs :-)

DD won't look this happy next Friday when fiance has to return to the UK indefinitely since covid-19 has messed up work visas and other plans. Hopefully it will be straightened out by the end of the summer.

However that means she's coming to stay with us for at least a month or more this summer so she's not stuck by herself staring at the four walls of their apartment.

Recently Word Fountain posted an easy bread recipe.

I made it this week and it is both as easy and as delicious as she said.

A couple of big milestones here this week. The baby has learned to army crawl and is all over the place and into everything! And the 3 year old has learned to draw people.

The other ones were too cute not to share. Even ice queens need naps some days. I had left her reading and it got suspiciously quiet.

What to do with an old stump, rotting away in the middle.

Oops, Internet service unhappy around here. Not enough strength.

Anyway, I put a red geraniums in a pot, stuck it into the rotted center of the stump, raked away a lot of leaves around the stump and transferred some wild violets and ferns, and added a curving line of small rocks to form a little wild garden spot. It's beside our driveway. I'll post the picture later if Internet picks up.

I was so excited when I saw Prince Edward Island on this U-haul truck! It's on my bucket list to visit here one day because of Anne of Gables. I am guessing the girl's face in the sand is Anne.

It's the first official day of break, and it's rainy in the PNW. That didn't stop us from a long walk, though, and now someone is tuckered out. It's too bad you can't see all of the paw twitching that's happening.

Great pictures this week! I love this thread, probably because I am pretty boring! Thanks for letting me live vicariously.

Choppie, The artwork your DD created is fantastic!

DD always says our other dogs did not bond as much with her. We told her to do MORE for the dog so she finally did, with this dog. So now someone is really bonded to her! At least she doesn’t scratch the door to get in her room. Just patiently waiting...

This is an enjoyable thread! I have no photos to post of my own this particular week though. I had taken some turtle pictures from my bike ride but they were too hard to see and grainy when enlarged.
