I saw this beauty on my walk the other day. It's about the size of my hand. It's a luna moth. You rarely see them. Unfortunately it was injured. Another person I know saw one this week here too. I learned that they only live about a week and don't even have a mouth. They basically mate and die.

I think Obie and Patches could be related. Obie has no tail. The vet said she is most likely part Manx. She also has blue ( crossed!) eyes. She is a little weirdo! When I adopted her last year at 7 years old, I named her Obie, which is really OB, short for "oddball", haha
Do you know what kind cat Patches is?

Fabulous pics. I so look forward to your Friday photos. Mine shows 2 things I saw on my walks this week. I love the weird egg place with its joke and how the blank canvas represents our lives right now.

I have a big bunch of blooms. Several years ago I dug them all up and tossed them in a pile off to the side. They had been planted in an odd space and got in the way. For some forgotten reason I left them in a pile. They took care of themselves and decided to keep growing anyway!

My peonies make me happy! The white one was transplanted several years ago from my grandmother's garden.

I don't recall them ever blooming before Canada Day and it's usually more like the 2nd week in July. We have had more summer weather in June then we have in the entire summer other years!

Having fun painting a surfboard at Huntington Beach.

An (I'd say) moderately famous artist by the name of Drew Brophy held a fun art event on the beach a couple of summers ago that SO and I attended. I'm NOT in the photo.

Sunset last night....It was interesting watching the pinks change color as the sun set. The Sarahan dust is moving in and makes for some beautiful sunsets.

3monkeys: welcome Gibson and to the world of grand parenting.

In that vein...Wyatt and I planted sunflowers yesterday. He liked everything about it....except getting dirty.

As usual, great pictures again this week.

Gretchen does not like to be photographed. I had brought in some outdoor cushions and she made it her throne.

I love seeing everyone's photos!

My dd and her friends decided to do a "prom for 3" since they missed out on prom. Dressed up, took pics, and had a fancy dinner at her friend's house. This was my favorite photo they took. My dd is on the right.

Thanks for all the great pictures! sonoma, I feel for your little dog😢

I took a walk through a small town east of my city where they recently had protests and a riot that destroyed 2 banks and damaged small shops. People got together and helped board up the stores and paint murals on them. This is a small section of the street.
