Has anyone watched the new Netflix series The Baby Sitters Club? I loved the books growing up and even made my mom drive in a snow storm to meet Ann M. Martin. I decided to check out the show and loved it! I think it did a great job of being true to the books but also updating them for today.

Yup, watched the first two with my DD yesterday! I grew up reading them and DD now has my huge collection, and has read most of them. I loved all the retro throw backs, understanding they wanted to keep it set in present day, but still has that 80ís/90ís feel to it. And I especially appreciated how all the girls really look 12/13 years old, and seem like real kids (for the most partósome of the outfits are a little too stylish IMO, for your typical preteen, but still fun!) I really like all the young actresses, especially Kristy, who I always related to.

I donít have Netflix but wanted to say that the books couldnít stay on my shelf in my early years of teaching fourth grade. My daughter loved them too. Enjoy the show!

Really liked it! (So far, I still have 2 episodes to go.)
Agree, my favorite in this version is Kristy
The only thing that seemed "too" modern for my tastes was the way the girls addressed all the parent clients by first name. That would never have flown in the books They were way too respectful. (No way would Mary Anne's dad ever been OK with that!)

Loving it too! I agree, they did a great job updating it but still keeping the characters as I remember them.

I didn't know Netflix had made this series. I watched it and enjoyed being reminded of how much I loved the books, but the SJW preachiness got annoying.

I loved the books as a child. I don't usually like kids' shows so I'm not sure I'll check out the series. Maybe one of these days when I run out of other stuff to watch after being stuck at home so long...

I thought they did an amazing job, and definitely stayed true to the books with a modern twist. Most of the characters they are spot on with the actors, although not all. But I understand needing to change things up for modern times. All in all I'd give a 9.9 out of 10! It's so funny now relating to the parents, and not the kids, like I did when I read the books 30 years ago!
