Why did I receive a letter about UI fraud?

I've been collecting unemployment since the pandemic hit in March.

My sub agency sent me a letter (snail mail) the other day informing me to report to the police if I suspected someone had opened an unemployment request in my name.

Why on earth would I receive this letter? They know I work for them and they know there's a pandemic.

It seems very suspicious to me.

Saw reports of fraudulent claims from other countries etc so itís probably just that. Finally catching up and just making sure you were the one that filed.
