Covid hair question

My hair has not been cut for over 5 months. I look like Cousin It, or if the wind is blowing, Einstein. Iím retired, so Iím just embracing the new look. Letís face it. It helps with the social distancing, since people figure Iím a crazy person and keep the away more than 6 feet. My question is for those of you who have to go back to school. Are you taking the risk and getting your hair cut?

Yep, I got my hair cut professionally 3 weeks ago for the first time since the day before Thanksgiving.
I felt safe, my mask was on the whole time, as was my hairstylist.
I cut my own hair (just end length, nothing fancy) in early April. It was good to have the stylist thin out my hair, and do tiny layers.

Iíve been twice and will go back in a few weeks. I felt safe with my mask and her mask. She also disinfected the sink and such after we were done.

I've been once and will go again next Friday. I felt perfectly safe. Masks worn by all.

I have not been yet, although hair salons are open. I live in a place where we have a large amount of community spread for the last six weeks. I want to wait until we are in a better situation locally before I take the risk.

Retired as well. I waited until early June for my first hair cut since February.I am now going every four weeks.

The salon I frequent is working at 50% capacity. No guests are allowed inside. Which means if my husband is with me he has to wait in the car.

Stylists take their temperature to make sure it is normal before coming to work. They also take the temperature of customers.

You have to wash your hand or use had sanitizer upon arrival.

Everyone must wear a mask the entire time while inside the salon.

The stylists sanitize the chair as each customer leaves.

I make my appointment for the first time slot of the day. I just feel there are less germs that way and the salon is much less than 50 percent filled.

I just let my husband cut mine.

I asked him to cut off an inch. He cut three. Then he explained that men an women have a different concept of what an inch is!

Iím ready for a salon but I will probably wait another 5 months until I decide.

Yes! I finally got my hair cut this week. I felt completely safe. It was just my hair dresser and me in the room. Windows and doors were open and an air purifier was going. In addition to both of us wearing masks. I was so relieved to finally get a color and cut. I feel more like myself again.

Nope. I haven't had a cut since January and I'm not planning for one anytime soon. A salon in my town had an outbreak last week. I can pull my hair into a bin or ponytail and be safe.

Haha! Love it!

I don't really like to get my hair cut in normal times. I think I've gone twice in the past six years?? So I have no plans to go but don't think I would even it I did it more regularly.

DD has short hair, but I haven't felt comfortable risking it right now so it's also crazy. She doesn't care and has been doing silly things with it plus we've been doing fun temporary dye at home.

I feel safer in a hair salon than I do in a restaurant!

I have an appointment coming up. My last professional cut was last fall. Iím not worried. Itís a small place with only two stylists, and the other stylist has never been there when I get a cut. If he is, the work stations are not near each other.

I typically get my haircut every 4 to 5 weeks because it is short and needs it. I had my hair cut once after March and it had it been 12 weeks.
I'm going to wait until just before school starts to go a second time. I am at 9 weeks right now. Pretty bushy! It felt safe and our numbers are fairly low here.

I made an appointment for last week. My H was not happy and thought it was too risky.

I was going to go anyway.

My stylist actually cancelled the appointment because she had some sort of conflict.

Of course I didn't tell H why I didn't go and he probably figured I listened to him and cancelled. Although he should probably know better after 25 years of marriage.

I had the WORST haircut of my life in February. So bad. Unimaginably bad. It has finally grown out and I do really want to get a nice cut but I haven't rescheduled.

I had an appt ó first one of the day at 8 am and in a Monday (itís closed on Sunday) so little risk of virus hanging around ó then our salons got closed again and 3 weeks later cases are still rising. Itís long now, so most of the time I just stick it in a ponytail.

I feel bad for my hairdresser. Others have been ďsneaking aroundĒ - but even if I was up for that I couldnít cheat like that on my gal. Weíll wait

I got mine cut in June when numbers were better in my area. I typically only get mine cut about 3-4x per year anyway, so it doesn't bother me too much. By the time I feel like I need another cut, who knows what things will look like.

I've been friends with my stylist since elementary school. She lives alone and has been socially distant, if not isolated. There are 2 stylists in the salon at a time. Both of us wear a mask. I feel very safe.

Yikes! I have 3 inches of gray hair. My last hair appointment was March 1st.
All the hair salons and barbershops are still closed in my area.

I finally got an appointment and then salons were shut down again. I haven't had mine cut in almost 2 years!

I did finally go in for a color and cut but not right away. I waited until I absolutely couldn't stand it. My small salon is taking necessary precautions: temps, masks, 1 client at a time per stylist--there's only 3 of them.

I haven't though been back for a mani/pedi. To me that's a luxury.

I went to high school with my hairdresser--she lives around the corner in my sub. Her salon is closed, but she has been coming to client's homes and with both wearing masks, she does your hair on your patio.

I went with a pixie in March, right before the shut down. I HATE getting my hair done, but Iím embracing the grey and I wanted a good chop of all the color....then Covid hit.

I have returned to work, not too sure how great my hair looks. I did take clippers to the back of my head and have been randomly trimming pieces here and there. I think it looks fine in the front, and since I canít really see the back of my head I am going to be an optimist and just assume I did a good job.
