Who has a laminator?

If you have your own personal laminator, which one do you have and where did you purchase it? I've been thinking about getting my own but don't want to overpay nor end up with a crappy one.

It's helped me prep so much this summer. I bought mine at Wal-mart (like $20)... it's the Scotch brand. It works FABULOUSLY!!!

Also, if you have a Sam's, this is where I buy the laminating pouches. They are around $20 for 100 sheets.

Hope this helps -- I'm headed to Sams today to buy another pack of laminate film because I've done so much lately.

I also bought the Scotch brand but I purchase mine from Amazon for about the same price, as well as the pouches. I love the quality of it because even when I am laminating regular computer paper & not card stock, the quality of the sleeves makes it very durable for my students to use. It is not flimsy & bubbly like what they use at my school. I love it & it has been one of my greatest purchases as a teacher.

Sounds like Scotch makes a good laminator! Is there a particular model/style that you all are using? Sorry for so many questions

I second the Scotch laminator

We bought one and love it so far. The laminate is thicker than the school stuff so it is better for things the students will hold a lot or things they will reuse like laminating worksheets and using dry erase markers on them for centers.

I am not sure what model the Scotch laminator is but it is the only one the stores (Target and Walmart) sell and it is about $20.

This is the one I have. The price has gone up a bit from when I bought mine a couple of years ago.

I do! I finally replaced my ancient one I've had since my first year of teaching. I bought a Scotch one as well. It was at Walmart and very inexpensive. It helps me prep so much at home in the comfort of my flip flops!

I also have a Scotch personal laminator. This will be its third year, and it is still working just fine. Amazon sells them. You can also use Scholastic points to buy one if I am remembering correctly.

For those of you who have the Scotch laminator....which one do most of you have?

After reading your comments, I *think* I really need one of these.

I also have the Scotch. I actually have two of them. The one at school is 3 years old and still working just fine.

ETA: I have this one. http://www.walmart.com/ip/THERMAL-LA...L-MAX/32745995

The one at school came from Amazon's.

The one at home came from Walgreens. Can you believe it?

I have the second one, Better Speller. I got mine at WalMart a couple of years ago, but it was around $24 then. I think the $33 price tag that is showing up in the link is a little high, even after all this time. Keep an eye out for a better price because I think you will like the silver one better. Having the extra piece on the back helps to feed the film in better. Mine has been a workhorse!

My husband bought me a Scotch laminator one year for Christmas and I love it. I go through 4-5 boxes of pouches per year it seems. The laminate at school is so thin and worthless - the stuff I buy at WalMart is so much thicker and better. I really recommend it.
