Travel without having to be on a schedule.

Help my sister take care of my mom. My sister really wore herself out taking care of my Dad before he died.

Read a lot.

Find my home office. Right now it is buried in school stuff,

Spend more time with my husband.

*Mid-week/longer camping trips
*Visit my family in other states... whenever!
*Volunteer at the local military hospital
*Audit a college class here and there
*Walking
*Art
*Spend more time with DH and dogs

Ok, I hate to admit it but I want to sub a few days a week for a few years to see my former students grow up and graduate. Of course, I may be too busy for that!

I look forward to so many things (in no particular order)

1) travel (in a couple of weeks we'll visit step-daughter and family in Cleveland for a week. In March my DH and DS and I are spending a week in Cuba. Possibly Japan in late spring.

2) Reading for pleasure! I've been doing that a LOT and forgot how much fun it is.

3) Reconnecting with friends for coffee, walks, lunch, tea, and just general pleasure

4) Spending more time with DH --- a few health issues we're dealing with make that IMPERATIVE

5) Finish a screenplay I have "sat on" for about 2 years!

6) Continue watercolor

7) Take some Adult Ed classes (Spanish! Literature, history???)

8) Relax

9) Get involved with literacy program through our public library & volunteer

10) Get more involved with volunteer work

11) Focus on my own health and strength and flexibility

12) Purge my attic (black hole of despair!)

Whew! Better get busy. . . . .

;-)

Landsoftly, when you retire the sky is the limit... You can do whatever you want to do, go where you want to go, and be whatever you want to be. As teachers we adapt to the school year, the school schedule, and the school day. I LOVED it! Know you do too! But when you crawl out of that teaching cocoon you will shake your wings off, pause for a moment.... and then you will FLY!!!! I am still flying high and looking forward to my next year as a comfortably retired teacher!!!

Enjoy snow days without thinking about having to make them up at the end of the year.
