Need help with the first step (Literacy)

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I am trying my first Donors Choose project. I teach Kindergarten.

I am trying to create a corner where there is a book or two with some matching things to play with. (A book transportation and some matchbox cars...). I am at a loss and overwhelmed at the same time. Any ideas of a book or two and some fun toys to match?

During reading it will be a place to read, during Choice Time it will be a place to read and play.

Also, I want to get multiple sets of a book and a cd I can then download that has the audible "turn the page" signals. Are these obsolete now?

HELP...

There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly has pieces that you can place into a puppet of the old lady.

I like your project, good luck with it.

You might be able to get the books/CD from Scholastic.

My first thought was the Kohls stuffed animals that match different books. I have a Curious George, Hingry Caterpillar, Brown Bear, Grouchy Ladybug, Madeline, and Cat in the Hat.
