Oh PT friends, have we had a day! Let me list the ways:
1) A 3rd grader had a meltdown and the social worker had to do a full on CPI hold before the first hour of school was over. Mom came and got him.
2) Another 3rd grader had a full on mental breakdown and had to have an amublance come and get her (she's been brewing for awhile and this isn't an appropriate placement for her).
3) The sexual harassment that's been going on in 5th grade all year trickled down to 4th. Oh, the things that were said at recess.
4) I had a 2nd grader walk out of my room yelling, "F*ck this school". Mom got called. Same 2nd grader was caught looking up grossly inappropriate things on his Chromebook for over an hour. Another call to mom. Mom and I are basically BFF's.
5) Kinders and inappropriate touching. We'll just leave that there.

I'm going home to share my can of Whip Cream with Mason Boy.

...kicking two high school boys out for repeatedly using FU and other really inappropriate language was tough.

I'm sorry. I can relate.
We had a 2nd grader trash her room and the class had to be evacuated. Mom called.
A 3rd grader stole from the book fair. She put small items and books under her coat hanging on her arm. A parent saw her. Mom called.
Something happened in a K class with a kid who has a 1:1 para. I didn't go down, someone else did.
In the schoolyard a kid was upset that he got tagged in a game of tag. so he literally stood there screaming at the top of his lungs. Somehow I calmed him down...somehow.
A boy in a self contained k/1 class trashed his room too!! Class had to be evacuated also of course.
*We have a lot of trashers (kids that trash their rooms) in my school
I almost didn't take my last group of kids because I was so burnt...but of course I took them with less patience than usual tho.

mrsd5...it's all tough. Not easy for anyone. Sounds difficult doing what you had to do too.

We had a hallway evacuation today. A few of my kids were in the bathroom and had to be rerouted on their way back.
The principal looked like she had just had it by the end of the day. But she bore the brunt of the physical violent behavior.

I don't think the public can even begin to understand that these things are happening in every school in almost every day. It is becoming a crisis and "we" need do to something.
