Helping to change the subject and mood in the lounge...

Currently the 20 yo man-child is dancing around the house with my back-scratcher. (His ADHD meds have apparently have not kicked in) And now arguing with the TV.

Spaghetti sauce simmered and hanging out until dinner.

We are starting to do things to eventually sell the house (at least a year or so from now)

-Had pool pump replaced (Well, it died so we didn't have a choice.)
-Had the insulation replaced (Definitely makes a difference)
-Getting an estimate to paint the inside of the house
-Probably going to put decomposed granite in an area on the side of our house. We have a side yard where part is concrete and part is dirt/weeds/doggy area. The part that isn't concrete is a hot mess and we need to do something with it. Don't want to put rock or bark because of the pets.

-Got some boxes to start packing stuff we need to keep, but doesn't need to be in closets or out.

I'm still trying to learn to crochet. It's not the stitches that are causing me problems, but...
a) I can't count worth....you know what
b) I can't see either

Preparing a house to sell is a great deal of work. My husband and I spent about a year doing that in 2015 and sold in 2016. All our hard work paid off and I hope your's does as well.

I too would like to learn to crochet but I need a teacher I could never learn on my own.

Sounds extremely productive!!
Well, my dd has her own place so I'm TRYING to get her to clean out her room so I can turn it into an office/den.
Right now I'm waiting for my school day to end (lol..I'm here) so we can get something of hers notarized to prove she's an in state student so her tuition is less. For one stupid class and then she graduates with her BA.

I found this monthly kit club... Annie's on FB. Yes, the kits are pricier than I'd like, but she has wonderful videos to guide you through each step. It makes it much easier.

My eyes are crap and as a math teacher, I refuse to count during me time. Therefore, granny square it is.

If you make your house too nice, you won’t want to leave! I feel your pain about children’s stuff still being in the house. Now that one of mine lives in Japan, and the other lives in Seattle, I may never get rid of their junk.

I took a year to pack up my house in Georgia before moving last summer.

It was so pleasant to be able to take my time. I bought eight plastic bins and started using the living room as a staging area. And the stuff just went flying out of the house.

I kept only the things that were sentimental to me and three collectible items that are for selling in a few more years. I packed, unpacked, and repack many times.

After a year, we put the house on the market, left for our newish home, and the realtor sold it about a month later. A few faxes later and I'm sitting in an uncluttered space!

It's the best way to move!

Well you know how to calm things down around here because seriously, reading your post was very calming!

You have been so productive! Spaghetti is one of my favorites! I hope it was delicious!

Calming stories

The heat wave broke this afternoon and I can breathe.

I am thankful that I have food, shelter, and a loving family.

I paid something forward to a dear friend and it changed her current situation.

Life is good. Weird, but good.
