This is the 3rd time I've painted DD's bedroom in the 10 years we've lived here - !

This was her "teen" room......pink and black:

I want that room and I'm 36!

Audrey Hepburn is everything.

It's gorgeous--you did a great job!

New bed -- she had the previous mattress since she was 3 years old!

-- those were the BEFORE pictures! She did love that room, but felt like she needed something calmer and more mature.

I am neither calm nor mature!

The grey is a beautiful upgrade.

Ruby07 painted room
Old 06-24-2020, 04:50 PM

I would take either of the rooms in a heartbeat. Did she keep them that neat?

Do you love repainting your kid(s)í rooms? I always loved it. One year while eldest DD was on a youth group trip I painted her room a deep blue, including ceiling, then stenciled gold stars on ceiling and trailing down the walls. She had mentioned the idea months before.

Moved on to younger DDís room. All sky blue and painted clouds on all walls and ceiling. It was like living in the sky.

And the irony of night and day in these two rooms was not lost on me.

Her room used to be a constant mess! She discovered that having a clear and uncluttered room GREATLY reduced her anxiety. She sleeps better, and she feels more calm and focused when her space is clean.

Beautiful color choices! I'd go for either color. Paint is by far the most economical redecorating choice and so fun to do.

I canít believe that no one mentioned the lights along the wall. I love those and the new wall color. Calm and peaceful atmosphere!

How do you paint that neatly? We always have to hire it done; apparently, neither one of us can stay in the lines!

Wow! Love both rooms but especially the update. The gray is very calming and classy. Beautiful job! I was also impressed with the organization and tidiness

Both look very nice. It's great that you were able to repaint the room for your daughter.

I LOVE painting! I spend hours just prepping the room. Hers is VERY tricky, because of the slanted ceiling, and our house is really old, so nothing is straight anyway lol. I use an edger at the top and the bottom, and then after the tape comes off, I go through with a very small paintbrush to even everything up.

Did you create the detail on the closet door or is it a decal? Either way, it looks great.

It's a decal, from Society 6, I think? I wanted it up in the left-hand corner, but DD disagreed lol.

I still have to show the tapestry next to the bed, but the photo won't upload (it's too big? I don't know how to fix it). And we're working on the wall over the dresser....painting a quote from a Broadway musical.
