So do you have fireworks and such for Canada Day? DD swears she will not be in the US next year for 4th of July. We saw that Canada Day was last week, so we were wondering if it will be quieter.

Detroit and Windsor do an International Freedom Festival to celebrate July 1 and July 4 together. The fireworks display is usually really good.

Normally, there are fireworks on Canada Day. This year, of course, it was cancelled. Here in BC, Except between October 24 and November 1 in any year, a person must not sell, give, fire or set off fireworks so we don't have weeks of fireworks like some of you have been complaining of (eek, looking around furtively to check for grammar police).

In a normal year, the next town over has a Canada Day festival with a parade, etc, and fireworks. Other towns tend to have them whenever their summer festival is, ours is "Homecoming" in late July.

I heard a few fireworks on Canada Day and the surrounding nights, but it was never more than a few and never super close. New Years is usually worse for people setting off fireworks.

We always have fireworks for CAnada Day, this year they were cancelled. We might have a couple people in town with personal fireworks, this year there were a lot more personal ones, but it is only on Canada Day not for days before and after.
