New Orleans knows how to keep things positive even in the worst of times.

I love that! I so admire the spirit of New Orleans. Both books I’m reading right now (Audible, Kindle) are partly set in New Orleans. And it was the closest “big town” my dad’s family could never afford to visit when he was growing up.

Thanks for sharing, SDT, you made me smile.

Sounds like something my school used to do to encourage positive behavior! Kids could earn tickets if someone spotted them being good, and then there was a raffle drawing. If it works, great!

Good use of positive reinforcement. It's a shame Americans can't just be good humans, but need a monetary reward to do the right thing. Perhaps more areas need to do the same. From what I have observed, positive reinforcement is needed in my county.

One more reason I love New Orleans so much!

When people say negative things about tangible rewards for students, I think about things like this. Even adults like rewards!

That is super cool! I was thinking maybe a group or business could even go around handing out small gift cards to places like ice cream parlors, fast food places, etc.
