Money card question

I just got a new debit/credit card with chip . My old one expires in 2021.... I understand they want everyone chipping now . Question do I have to alert all my accounts that my expiration date is updated???? or will it just continue ? The new date is 2 years from now ???? Any thoughts? Corona has made my brain stale lol

I just got a new one last month. On places where I had a card stored, some sites asked that I updated the information with the new expiration date and new security, others didn't. I just tried to use it and if it let me use it, it was fine. Other sites said, "Card is expired, please update" or something to that effect and then I updated.

I hope my answer helped and is correct. That's how it worked for me anyway.

I hope others share their experiences, too. I'd hate to mess something up for you!

Is the account number the same? If so, it's likely an easy transition. You may not need to do anything at all, at least until the expiration date of the old card. I'm lazy and I would probably just use the new card and not say anything unless/until someone asks.

You shouldn't have to do anything. If there is an issue you'll get a notification from whatever company it is to update it. I would be surprised if that ends up happening.
