Wow, I'm posting a lot tonight. Sorry.

I got a job that pays me to get off my BFA. I'm going to be a part time census worker. I get paid almost $20/hour to walk around and talk to people. I can work around my school schedule, and in fact, they prefer nights and weekend. I get paid for mileage. I can work anywhere from 5-40 hours and get paid for my training. My friend had her first day today and said it was actually fun.

I'm actually kind of excited about it.

That sounds like an interesting temp side job

I picked up some books from the library today. (They bring your reserved books out to you in a bag.) It was a nice surprise to have a couple of Census 2020 pencils included at the bottom of the bag, just a little something, but it out a smile on my face!

Congratulations! Sounds like fun.

I take it itís safe to talk to people there? Do they have to sign something? I just canít get over how different our locations are in terms of Covid.

My husband also just got hired for the census in Illinois, but he is getting $29 an hour so I would check on that.

He just got his paperwork and does not know yet when training starts.

Oh, the stories. It's really interesting. They didn't get back to me this year. Oh well.

Congratulations! I don't think I would mind doing that either! I hope your experience is as much or even more fun than your friend's experience! Keep us updated.
