ETA - I read the list, and forgot some faves. I think Chicago, Singing in the Rain, and Jesus Christ Superstar beat out South Pacific

I love musicals and usually whatever musical I’ve seen most recently is my favorite so.....

1 Hamilton
2 Into the Woods
3 Hard Days Night (I saw it 8 times in the theater as a 13 year old )
4 Les Miserable
5 Fiddler on the Roof

Favorite musicals that haven’t been movies—Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Wicked

1. Man of La Mancha I really enjoyed it when I saw it in the early 70s, and it's
still one of my favorites. It should have been included on the list.

2. Sound of Music

3. Hello Dolly Many critics didn't like the movie version, but again, I enjoyed it. It should have been included somewhere on the list.

4. Music Man

5. Fiddler on the Roof

Honorable Mention in no particular order:
King and I, My Fair Lady, A Night at the Opera, Mary Poppins

Like others have said, my Broadway play musical list is different than the movie musicals list. Here's my top 5 favorites (in no particular order) from the list provided:

1. Singin' in the Rain
2. Fame
3. Cabaret
4. The Rocky Horror Picture Show
5. Fiddler on the Roof

I didn’t know a lot of those on that list, which really surprised me.

From that list:

1. Sound of Music, always and forever. There’s never a time that I’m not down for a rewatch.

2. White Christmas - will there ever be a Christmas I don’t watch this? Nope!!

3. Guys and Dolls - Brando and Sinatra?? Swoon!

4. Mary Poppins - oh Julie Andrews, you are magnificent.

5. Labyrinth/Rocky Horror Picture Show - tied!

And the Muppet movies are just something wholly in and of themselves. I love Kermit with my whole heart.

If we were considering things not on the list - Hamilton, RENT, and Wicked!
