Trade Books to use with Traits

I am looking for different trade books that would go with introducing each trait...I found some on one site, but they are not even available at the public library. I'm really not in a position to buy several new books, but would like to build slowly through Scholastic, etc...
soo....what trade books do you use with each trait?

I used The Big Black Fly when introducing Idea today...it was ok, but I bet there's better one's out there...please share!

this is all new to me....2nd grade teacher

I begin the year with " When I Was Young in the Mountains " because that is where I live. I share photos of bears in my backyard, lakes, and my family in a forest setting. Its always exciting for the kids to learn where their teacher comes from. This leads into ideas of what they remember such as their memories of first grade. I use a memory map as a graphic organizer. I recommend a book that helps them find out more about you or your interests. Lilly and the Purple Plastic Purse by Kevin Henkes (sp?) A natural born teacher! Any other books by Henkes are super as well. Hope this helps.

I have several traits book and one that they mention for ideas is Nothing Ever Happens on 90th Street. I really like it. I teach 4th and 5th, but I think it will work with any grade level.
