Tall Tales

Years ago I heard an idea of having groups of students write a tall tale. It went something like this. A small group (about 4 or 5 students) each have a piece of paper. A prompt is given which students use to write a sentence or two of the story. The paper is then folded down and passed to another students in the small group. Then the next prompt is given and each time after the students add a part, the paper is folded down and passed to the next student. When each member of the group has added a part to the story, the students unfold the paper and read the team story. I don't remember the prompts that were used. Has anyone ever heard of this? Any ideas for creating interesting prompts that would help a tall tale grow?
