My district is doing a lot of work with common core. Does anyone have any of their reading workshop units planned to realign with the common core? Thanks for your help!

Daily 5 or Readers Workshop? I am new to second grade, so I really do not know which one to follow. Time is running out..

I like a little of the two blended. I do a readers workshop in first and then follow with daily 5 choices.

I also do a combination of d5 and rw in first. I do my comprehension mini lesson and then read to self for all. My next 2 rounds include all d5 choices. I do writer's workshop in the morning. By doing it this way I ensure that everyone has time for independent reading and writing daily and I don't need to do record keeping to for their choices. I will say that the vast majority of my kids choose work on writing and read to someone during our 2 rounds of choice.

I love how it works in first grade.
