Hi Dan,
I just interviewed for a similar position on Friday (and landed the job!) and I asked questions like:
Are there leveled readers available? What program/basal does your school use?
How do you determine which students are eligible for remediation?
How much parental involvement is expected of me?
Is there planning time built into the day?
Is there PD available?
Will I work with student on an inclusive, pullout or combination basis?
How many students can I expect to be working with at any given time?
What technology is available to me and to the students?
Is there a budget available for supplemental instructional needs?
I was asked things like:
What would you do if a student refused to be cooperative when working in your small group?
How do you instill confidence when working with students?
What is your view on differentiation?
How familiar are you with CCSS?
Are you familiar with Fundations? LLI? Running Records? (Which I was not)
Having worked with students as an instructor, how do you think you will approach instruction this year?
Hope this helps! Good Luck!
Carol
