Just an FYI for those of you who are Jivey fans, or interested in her things, I signed up for a webinar on how to use interactive read alouds. Ore effectively. It's for grades 3-5. I'm sure she's selling something (that I'm not planning on buying), but I think it will be interesting.

I attended the webinar on mentor sentences and really want to try them out this year. I think it might be a great way to integrate grammar into an already tightly packed schedule!

I took her mentor sentence course this summer. It was a great refresher for doing mentor sentences again this year.

I just bought her vocabulary units that go along with the mentor sentences. I am excited to add those this year.

My students absolutely love mentor sentences and hated short weeks when we didn't do them. I also had a great observation from admin. when they observed my MS lesson.

I tried it out the mentor sentences and surprisingly it works! The students on week 2 are able to imitate the mentor sentence fairly well. Surprised me!
