-to be able to read text and write well-developed responses to the questions.
-to know his multiplication facts backwards and forwards and backwards again with such automaticity there's no thinking involved.
-to be able to read a multi-step word problem and know how to tackle the problem and tackle it correctly.
-to be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions, both with like and unlike denominators.
-to be able to write in complete sentences using proper capitalization and punctuation automatically.
