Going back in person on Wednesday!!

I'm so excited! I'm so excited to see my kids in person! So excited to not be on the computer all day! So excited to absorb their energy and enthusiasm! And so excited to get some of my kids out of the chaos that is their home/learning center and into the classroom so they can learn!

And I feel like a brand new teacher who has NO idea what to expect on the "first" day of school. Not only that, but I realized that this will actually be the first "first" day of school that I have to do on my own! I've always had a partner - first it was my am/pm kinder partner, then my job share partner. It's kind of funny to feel intimidated by that when this is my 15th year of kindergarten!

So happy for you. I missed the energy too and loved to see the kids. Just a couple of hints. My kids were not used to being in class. They had to go to the restroom often and wanted snacks all day long. I really felt like my 3rd graders acted like 2nd graders. I had to really slow down and reteach what is it like to be in school. These kiddos need healing and really so do you so don't rush it.

Thank you for those words to remember! I'm in kinder so I'm used to kids not having been at school, but it's still going to be a huge adjustment for all of us. I'm taking it easy the next three days and hoping that it can get us in the swing of things.
