Do any of you have some lessons you have done with this book? It's a wonderful story about a girl from Australia who writes a Thank You letter to Santa after Christmas and correspondence starts up between Santa and her.

Right now I plan on reading it when we get back from break and then have the kids write thank you letters to Santa.

I love this story and the kids always do too. Last year I thought it would be a great idea to have the kids draw names and write letters to each other that we could turn into books. I told them they could write as anyone they wanted. I told half of them to start and they wrote letters and the other ones wrote back. Honestly, the children really seemed to enjoy it, but I was mortified when a little Christian girl wrote to her partner who was a Jehovah's witness, as if she was Jesus. I just never expected that one. I was waiting for it to explode in my face so I didn't push the kids to keep up with the assignment.... This year I just read the book to the class.
