Textbook AND Workbook?

Clip to ScrapBook #1

Hello!
I'm new to 3rd grade this year and I'm moving down from teaching 5th . I received a new math curriculum and each student has a textbook (hardcover) and workbook (softcover).

I'm wondering how you might organize and utilize each book?
Do you use a textbook and workbook?
Do you use one more frequently than the other?

I'm trying to organize the whole thing in my head and thought I would pick another brain. Any advice is much appreciated.

Kids come next Wednesday

I would use the textbook as a reference. The workbook probably has daily assignments for after you have modeled and practiced a lesson.

You might want to move your question to the Busy Board because it get more traffic and likely to get more responses.
