Bought my dd's instant pot from her

I actually love it. I have made black beans, boiled eggs, and tonight 15 beans soup. It was incredibly easy and good. I saved a Chicken Piccata recipe on here from earlier. I have to do a little more searching, but what other recipes do you like? I do have the combo model that slow cooks, steams, and stuff, so I probably will get rid of both my steamer and my crock pot.

What are other must does you have found?

I can’t even think of 15 kinds of beans, much less imagine a shopping cart with 15 kinds of beans.

Amiga—you can buy a single pound bag of the 15 bean mix, otherwise will wouldn’t be able to think of 15 different beans either

I love making rice, soup (I do chicken noodle and lentil soup, along with ham/bean soup)

Steamed broccoli is so easy—just set it to 0 minutes and it cooked in the time it takes to get up to pressure. (Add water)

I had no idea. Can you tell I buy garbanzo beans and black beans—in cans? That’s 2.

I have a combo instant pot, but find that the crockpot mode isn’t that great. I kept my separate crockpot and still use that. Yes, my counter is crowded

Corn on the Cob

I like doing Corn on the Cob in mine. Much less hassle than boiling a big pot of water. One cup of water in the bottom. 4 husked ears on the rack. Set it to high for 2 minutes. Quick release it and serve.

I like doing hard cooked eggs in mine, too. They are so easy to peel after they are done!

I do like Hip Pressure Cooking for how-to's and recipes

As well as Pressure Cooking Today

And Amy+Jacky's site. Their recipes are really well tested out and have great directions.

I had the same experience as Momteach310 with the slow cook setting. It ran hot and didn't seem to heat evenly. You might want to try yours out before you get rid of your crock pot.

Ooh congrats! I love my IP

I’ve also made plain white rice. Although I only use that if I’m cooking something else for dinner that doesn’t use the IP; otherwise I just make a quick pot in the stove.

Usually I’ll just search on Pinterest if I’m looking for something specific. Here are a few favs:

Recipes:

Amy & Jacky blog in general

Pork Chops - these are AMAZING

Pinto Beans

Black Bean Soup

Spanish Chicken Fricasee

I also agree with PPs; sometimes you’ll need to adjust cooking times. IME things like beans or meat need longer than the recipe states.

Try PressureLuck for excellent recipes. Most are not low cal, if that's important to you, though Jeffrey does have a low fat cookbook. (Yes, I feel like we're on a first name basis!)

I love Skinnytaste recipes. She has two cookbooks that have instantpot recipes

Fast and Slow

One and Done

I made this soup tonight and it's delicious. * I did add garlic in the first step and I always use season salt in place of salt (just my preference!) I also didn't have 2% milk, so I used 1 cup of oatmilk and a little bit of cream cheese.
