March is Reading Month plans

We have set our theme for March is Reading Month to match the theme of the Scholastic bookfair for spring...All You Can Read, a diner theme. I'm looking for more ideas to use. Our plans include a reading genre sheet that looks like a menu, a celebration day full of diner references, etc. What else can you think of?

Where did you find the Spring theme? The one I was given was Destination: Book Fair. We would like to plan our theme around the book fair, as well, but I want to make sure we have the right theme.

about the spring fair. She told me it was ALL YOU CAN READ with a 50's diner theme. We envision loads of red checked tablecloths , making our reading genre log into a menu, etc. We always plan a celebration day at the school with all the classes rotating through the many stations with the diner as a theme. We ask community folks in to do demonstrations or instructional sessions. I will check the Scholastic site again for clarification but that's what we were told last year.
