Thanks to Eat to Live I have been able to donate 5 bags of clothing to Goodwill.

My problem now is school starts in a week and I have 2 outfits I can wear. I guess I need to shop.

Congratulations! That takes some amazing will power. My doctor really believes we should take a similar philosophy, but I haven't been able to get myself to that point yet.

Keep up the good work and go shopping!

Would you mind giving us a brief description of the program? What does a day of meals look like? Thank you and congratulations!

It's not really a program, it's a lifestyle of eating healthy high nutrient food so your body can heal and drop pounds. In his books Dr. Fuhrman explains what is wrong with SAD (Standard American Diet) and how many of the popular myths about diet and eating lead to disease.

I most likely never would have picked up the book, but I saw him on PBS last year and much of what he said made sense to what I was going through. I worked out, I cut calories, tracked my food, ate several small meals, and was ALWAYS hungry. I couldn't lose weight, but now I have and I feel great. No asthma flares this summer and I haven't had a migraine in 2 months!

What I have learned to do:
* eliminate processed food including oil. Contrary to popular opinion oil - even olive oil and coconut oil - are not health foods!
* make salad the main meal
* daily eat raw and cooked greens and other vegetables, onions, cooked mushrooms, at least 1/2 cup of beans, and some seeds or nuts.
* since I have chosen to eat as a vegetarian I have 1 T ground flax seed daily.
* I never thought I could live without butter and bread, but I can. Honestly your tastes do change once you start eating better. I now crave my salads and fruit. I rarely ate fruit before.

That's the short of it. You can get more info on Dr. Fuhrman's site: http://www.drfuhrman.com/

You can learn quite a bit there without becoming a member. I do recommend reading his books. The End of Dieting is the newest one and gives much of the information you can read about it Eat to Live.
