No fabric softener dispenser

Just got my new Whirlpool washer and discovered it has no fabric softener dispenser. I am just going to try using it without softener and see if it was really nessary. I used to have a washer back in the day with no dispenser and I used a Downy ball. I am not willing to wait for the rinse cycle.

I haven't used fabric softener in ages. I do use those fuzzy wool dryer balls I got from Trader Joe's. They work for me, although they may not soften clothes as well as traditional fabric softener or dryer sheets. My only problem with the balls is that they get caught in fitted sheet pockets.

I've also, never used fabric softener. I do use dryer sheets in the dryer but I have two loads that I hang dry. Hmm... maybe I should add some to my shopping list!

I'm another person who doesn't use fabric softener. I also use the wool dryer balls.

My problem with the dryer balls is that if I forget about them when unloading the dryer I end up chasing them all over the floor. Luckily my laundry room is small so they can't roll too far away.

I just dump vinegar right into the wash load, and then use dryer balls. My mom uses one of those fabric softener bar things that you stick on the side of the dryer.

I've also not used fabric softener. We have some of those dryer balls, but we always forget to use them. I think the dog took one for herself...

I never use fabric softener. Among other things, it makes towels less absorbent. And probably other clothes also.

When we got our new washer installed last year, the men who installed it stressed to us (several times!) that even though there was a fabric softener dispenser, they strongly recommend that we do not use it. It builds up inside the washer and can gunk it up. They said not using would lengthen the life of our washer.

I use vinegar as a fabric softener. It also helps get out any of the smells in the clothes.

I would hate that! I canít imagine them making a washer without one. Did you read the directions? maybe itís hidden.
I love fabric softener and use it for all laundry except towels. I use the free and clear kind so it doesnít have a scent. I do put vinegar in the dispenser when I do my towels, which helps keep it clear. I also use Affresh monthly to clean the washer. We do have hard water even with a water softener and I like how it keeps static off my clothes.
