5th Grade Vocabulary Center Help

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I need some ideas on vocabulary centers for my 5th graders. I use Elements of Reading Vocabulary for the actual words, but as far as what they can do while in their 20 minute center I am at a lost. Currently we do foldables and then I'll have the students read a story that contains the vocabulary words, but I need ideas that will increase the rigor in the vocabulary center.

What type of foldables do you use for your vocabulary?
I do word webs for vocabulary and one is to draw a picture so they can remember the words, what they think the word definition is, the dictionary definition, write a sentence using the word in the correct context, part of speech...

How about a matching game - they match the word to the definition. Then they can put them in their interactive notebooks with a picture.

These also work for adding rigor. If you google frayer model, several will come up. They can also be glued into a notebook easily.
