Teacher led group.....

Clip to ScrapBook #1

At the school I teach at we are required to do small group teaching and we are not allowed to teach whole group. If I have 30 kids I can either do 3 groups with 10 kids or 4 with (7-8) kids. If I only have an hour do I go with 3 groups with 20mins where I can see all the students everyday or do I do 4 groups and do 2 groups a day and seethe students every other day?

As a parent I would like to see my child at the teacher led group everyday. As a teacher I can see where every other day may have to happen.

Suggestions?? Thanks!

Why can't you do whole group instruction? I think I would go with every other day - that way you will have longer to instruct and get them ready for an activity they can work on the next day. You could see each group twice a week and maybe on Fridays do a whole class or small group check in. As a parent, I think I would be ok with either way, as long as I knew his educational needs were being met.

whole class mini-lessons? Then break into your groups from there. I woud do every other day groups - it's easier with smaller numbers.
