My DGD(3rd grade/8 yrs old) needs some books to get her to love reading. She loves to play BB, actually any sport and loves math. I would love to have some books that would get her to love reading. Do you have any book titles that I can check out?

Check out the website:
amightygirl.com

They have a wonderful collection of book titles in different categories and you can search by age range. They have 95 titles under "Sports and games" for 6-8 year olds. And more if you wanted to look above that age group.
They also have math & science selections.

I follow the website on FB and have discovered lots of great reads for my middle school daughter.

Take a look at the American Girl series of books. The line started with historical fiction, and that's still there, but there are now contemporary novels and nonfiction books as well. She might enjoy American Girl magazine as well. The target age is 8-12.

She also might enjoy the Jake Maddox line of sports novels. These are written for a lower Lexile level, but even my higher-reader third-graders loved them. There are novels about girls as well as boys.

Okay, this is a book written by a local woman about Title IX. I know thatís heavier, but she wrote it to show young girls how they came to be able to play sports and how important it is for girls to become athletes. Itís called Maggie Jean, and it is by Peggy Kulczewski. It is for sale on Amazon.

Wilma Unlimited is one of my favorites. It's about Olympic runner Wilma Rudolph and the challenges she overcame.
