Any suggestions for building campus morale? My administrator's only contribution is to yell at students and teachers~not very pleasant for anyone!

Sounds dreadful. I'd suggest starting by noticing and reinforcing what is going well. There is always something, even if simply that the person is present. Notes of specific affirmation can be powerful. Include the administrator in your affirmations. He or she likely needs them too.

Speak them and write them through positive notes.

positive affirmations. Ask P. to set aside a few minutes at the beginning of your next staff meeting for a 4-5 to be read aloud. It may "help" P to adjust his tone.

Not sure what the term for this is but it's fun to "tag" classrooms during holidays. Teachers secretly deliver enough treats or stickers and hang a sign on the classroom door. This might be fun during testing or during spirit week. The trick is to make sure no classroom is left out.
Good luck!

I agree that sweet notes in mailboxes can really make someone's day. Something personal, like something you like that they did in their room, etc...

Food always makes people smile, too. Buy a few dozen donuts, set them out in the teacher's workroom, and write "You donut know how much our faculty means to me. Thanks for all you do!" on a cute sign near it.
