I have a family who's moved into our school community who is Wiccan. (Practices the Wiccan faith? What's the proper usage there?) Are there any books/literature/genres that a Wiccan family may be uncomfortable with their child being exposed to when it comes to read alouds, etc.? I've taught children of many faiths and belief systems, but this is my first Wiccan.

Witches constantly portrayed as ugly , evil villains who want to murder people is one that bothers many wiccans, since they see themselves as peaceful witches.

I'm not a wiccan, my friend's wife is and I am around how they raise their children in a dual-faith household. I just wanted to mention that I'm not a wiccan, I just shared one thing that bothers my friend's wife and their kids .

I would ask the family. They are the experts on their beliefs and how you can be sensitive to them.

Thank you for taking the time to make this family feel comfortable. Many people associate Wiccans with Satanists and they are not even close to being the same thing. Ask the family for guidelines. They may even have some informational literature that you can read. I had a family of Jehovah's Witnesses one time that provided me with literature to help me understand their beliefs.
