Netflix or other streaming

I know I saw a post about Netflix the other day, but being on drugs from this broken hip I can't seem to find it.

I just signed up and I'm ready to cancel! I can't find several movies/TV shows that I'd like to watch. I tried Elf, Home Alone, Rizzoli and Isles, The Sopranos.

I'm going to be laid up for another month and need some entertainment to get me through. What is best---Netflix, HuluPlus, or I think there is something with Amazon too.

HELP I'm bored!!!!

I'm sorry to hear you will be laid up and I hope you feel better soon!

I'm a fan of Netflix with a side of iTunes with Apple TV. (Can you tell I watch too much TV?! ) I like Netflix because they have a bunch of old shows and movies that I never saw the first time around. A downside is that stuff will randomly come and go from the instant streaming.

I like that you can rent movies on iTunes. We rented Beasts of the Southern Wild the other day and I fell in love with it! Netflix streaming would never have something that new on there. I don't do Netflix DVD's anymore because they doubled their price awhile back.

Oh and since I have Amazon Prime I can get their instant streaming, but I don't have a way to play it on my tv so I've never actually used it.

I have it on! Thanks! I had looked for it yesterday. Just surprised what Netflix doesn't have.

I have Amazon Prime, which includes a lot of free streaming movies and television shows, plus a bunch more that are available to rent.

Netflix streaming

That is why I don't get Netflix streaming. I only get the DVDs because I can get whatever I want. Sure, I have to wait a bit longer because its vis USPS, but I usually don't have a lot of time to watch TV during the week anyway.

In your situation, I can see why you'd be frustrated because you're bored now. If you stay with Netflix, you could do DVD and streaming or do 2 DVDs at a time so you have something to watch while the other one is being sent back.

My husband watches a lot of old shows on hulu. (Really, really old like Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Twilight Zone, Outer Limits, Sea Hunt) He insists he hasn't paid but I'm not sure if I believe him. Check it out, it may be worth some old fashioned fun if it is free.

I don't have any alternatives for Netflix, just a suggestion for a show. Try Downton Abbey. Season 1 is on Netflix. Season 2 can be streamed from PBS.org. You might find some other shows at PBS too.

There is a bunch of old stuff free on hulu. Most of what is paid are newer shows, instant access to current shows - nonpay waits 7 days -and full seasons of many shows. There are no CBS shows, they opted out, but NBC, FOX, ABC, and any networks they own are there.
