Bangs or no bangs
Old 06-24-2019, 06:39 PM

Iím thinking about getting bangs just for a change. I have shoulder length layered hair so I think they will look cute! My concern is that I do not wash my hair everyday and I have a feeling I might need to with bangs sitting on my oily forehead all day. The other concern is having to trim them every few weeks.

But it might be fun!

Do you prefer bangs or no bangs?

I cannot tell you how many times I tried to grow out my bangs and gave up! It has taken me a year to grow them out so there's no way I'd cut my bangs right now.

However, if you haven't had them in a while, they do grow if you aren't happy. Bangs are also supposed to make you look younger (not saying you're older just what others have said).

I have bangs. I don't wash my hair every day either, usually just every four days. I do pin back my bangs when I exercise and at night. I also shampoo just my bangs every other day - I use a shower cap and leave them out to wash.

I have had bangs for 100 years! I grew them out last year and it was easier, but did NOT look better! I don't wash my hair every day, but I do wet my bangs with a comb, blow dry, and flat iron every morning. Takes about 30 seconds. I just look better with bangs, so it is worth the bit of extra hassle.

My bangs throw some shade on the horizontal lines at the bridge of my nose. I don't think I have a choice. But my sister with no wrinkles doesn't have bangs and looks cute.

I have bangs and love them! But if they get too "texturized" they are hard to work with. I prefer mine more blunt.

I've had bangs my entire life except for six-seven months when I grew them out and then decided I didn't like being bang-less and almost immediately cut them back in.

Mine do get oily faster but washing just your bangs in the sink is super easy and fast.

I have bangs

I have a high forehead, so I look better with bangs. I wear them mostly swept to the side with just a thin layer across the front.

My forehead is very high, AND I am starting to get a receding hairline . Old age stinks! I have had bangs ever since I can remember, except for that one period in middle school when I tried to grow them out so I could have long straight hair.

I had bangs for about 14 years and I am currently growing them out. I went to a different hair salon and she cut them funky and I felt like half my head was bangs! With thick hair, they were just too much.

I love my hair with bangs, and I love it without bangs!

I love bangs on other people! My hair doesnít work for bangs, too fine and flyaway. I wish I could have short Audrey Hepburn bangs. Heck, Iíd like her face, too.

I've had bangs forever. I think they make me look younger (hide the forehead wrinkles!).

I love bangs, but I've gone without them throughout my life. The main point is...as long as it's a change from what you've had now. Change is good, so YES, get bangs!

Getting bangs was the worst fashion choice I ever made . It was middle school and they looked HORRIBLE on me. Bummer, because I have a high forehead. I don't see anyone around here who has them (I just racked my brain and couldn't think of a single coworker/friend/acquaintance), so I assumed they were a thing of the past. Maybe it's more of a regional thing? Obviously a lot of you have them!

I go back and forth between bangs and no bangs. I have wavy hair, so when I get bangs; they look cute for about a week. Then they start to curl and it looks like I've got Jane Jetson wings on my head. So if you have super straight hair, I say go for it. If not, be warned that it will take work to keep them looking nice.

I have a cowlick on one side of my head so when I get bangs they literally curl two different ways. Itís infuriating.

As long as you donít have that issue , go for it!

I actually cut them myself and they donít look that bad! However I want them to blend into the rest of my hair a little better so I made an appointment at the salon to clean everything up. Itís cute!

bangs

I don't like hair in my face, so bangs don't work for me. My hair is easy, so I don't want anything that makes it difficult.

Crazy example, but remember when Jennifer Aniston got bangs in the last season of Friends? She kept brushing them out of her eyes with her hand. My hair is cut like hers, so I know if I decide to get bangs I'll be doing the same thing.

Okay - just saw your last post. I'm glad you like them!

I have curly hair and a cowlick! Bangs are still possible...you "train" the hair with the blowdryer by blowing one way then the other. It took a while, but mine hang properly now!
