I visited NYC last Saturday

The weather was perfect last Saturday and we had a wonderful visit. My top three destinations were Macy's Herald Square, a walk along Fifth Avenue including St. Patrick's Cathedral, Holiday Window Saks Fifth Avenue, and nearby Rockefeller Center.

We had reservations for lunch at Lillies's Victorian Restaurant at Times Square at 2:30. Lillie's was decorated beautifully for Christmas in a Victorian era style. The 2:30 reservations were perfect. By the time we left it was crowded but comfortable at 2:30.

Enjoy your visit.

Your trip sounds like it was as close to perfect as possible, and a trip that is on my bucket list.

We ate there last year when we went into the city to see Reuben and Clay's Christmas show on Broadway. I was disappointed they didn't revive it again for this holiday season because it was a lot of fun.

I am going in this Saturday to see A Christmas Carol on Broadway. This time, we are going to eat at Junior's Cheesecake Restaurant after the show, and then head to see the tree and the windows. The weather is looking pretty good fo now.

Glad you had a good time!

We went to the 1:30 Rockettes show and saw the tree. Ate at a little place where son goes to lunch. They have awesome bowls that you create. Driving was left to son. It was so crowded, but people were incredibly nice. We had 5 adults and two little ones, and all had a great time. Well, maybe not son, who didn't go to the show, but went into work instead for a bit. Sure different from the cornfields of Illinois!

I've never even heard of Lillie's!

The thing with living close to the city (and going in quite a bit to visit my son who lives there) is that you don't really do the tourist things. Sometimes that is good, and sometimes bad! For example, I have only been to see the tree a few times my whole life. (This year, the tree came from my neighboring town) It is just so crowded....

But NY is so much fun. I find it very energizing.
