I have finally lost it

I wore two different boots to school today - one black and one brown. Luckily, they are the same exact style. Also, luckily, it is crazy Christmas sweater day, so I can attempt to pull it off. Only downside is that we have our Christmas show tonight, with ALL of the parents. Oh well!

Can you run home to get the other one before the Christmas show?

If not, hey, just throw a bow on one of the shows, and act like it was part of the "crazy" day.

Did the same thing twice

during my teaching career. I had a pair of black shoes that I really liked as they are comfortable and had egg crate inner soles. So I bought a navy pair as well. Twice I put on one of each and wore them to school. The incidents were a year or more apart. The students caught me both times. They laughed and laughed. Hey we get up and dress half asleep right?

I wore a beige shoe and a light blue shoe to school once when I was still in my 20s. Same style. It's what comes from getting dressed in the very early morning without turning on a light close to your closet! My slowest student was the first to notice-obviously more observant than I was.

Different Shoes

I get it because I've done the same thing. I once wore a navy shoe on one foot and a black shoe on the other one. It happened to be a day of parent conferences, and I felt ridiculous. I'm sure plenty of parents noticed the weird teacher with the mismatched shoes.

I did this once, and they were tall boots so it was super noticeable. Somehow, and I still don't know how this is, I didn't even notice until after lunch. I was incredibly embarrassed. If it were a regular day with kids I could have laughed it off (and stayed hidden in my classroom as I was a classroom teacher the year this happened), but it was a PD day with all the new teachers in the district. So I was in room full of other adults all day . Of course they were too polite to mention it. We'd also gone to Chipotle and Target on our lunch break.

My navy and black items are all marked. Pants on the tag. Shoes on the insole. No more standing at the closet in the early morning light trying to decide what color something is.

I don't have any clue what happened that day - and yep, took this picture at work.

It's so funny to read your post today because just last night a few of us retired teachers met. Teacher 1 looked down and realized her pants were navy instead if black. The rest of us chimed in with our stories of wearing two different shoes to school. In my case in was hurrying to meet the car pool and dressing in the dark of winter.

I once gave a prize to one of my students for their excellent observation skills when I wore 2 different color shoes to school.

I'll never forget the time I wore dark green leotards with a black and white houndstooth jumper and black shoes. I had meant to wear black leotards! The lady sitting next to me in the jury box was a buyer for GAP and needless to say she was dressed so well the entire five days of the trial. I ended up laughing with her about my mess up

If I can find a comfortable shoe, I usually buy it in multiple colors (black, brown, navy). Add this to dressing in the dark so as not to wake dh, and it has happened to me several times.

I also buy multiple colors of the same shoe. I often get dressed in the semi-dark as to not disturb my husband, and my outfits and shoes sometimes surprise me when I look in the mirror.
