Well, Iím Hanukkah not Christmas so..
-Iím going to set up my new classroom and hope I donít set off the alarm.
-Figure out if Masonís newest owie requires a vet call now or if it can wait until Thursday
-hit the store for last minute items while I hunker down tomorrow
-celebrate Mollyís 8th Gotchya Day

Clearly all important things (she says with her tongue firmly in her cheek).

You have only ONE gift to wrap?
Old 12-24-2019, 06:53 AM

I wrapped all last evening and STILL have my entire bed filled with gifts to wrap. Did I overdo it? I wonder.

2. Finish framing ancestor photos for adult "kids" in family.
3. Cook (but that's my sweetie's job).
4. Clean House.

We have our large meal this evening with friends and family. Expecting about 15 people for steak and shrimp on the bbq. It is a nod to my parentsí Christmas Eve Swedish smorgasbord, although not nearly as elaborate.

-centerpiece from florist
- rolls from the artisan bakery
- liquor store for my MILís Xmas brandy
- marinate the shrimp
- puff pastry from the grocery for the baked Brie
- lottery tickets for the stockings
- prep the baked potatoes
- remember to take out of the freezer to thaw: Xmas day casserole, coffee cake, and Pepparkaka (Swedish ginger cake) for dessert Xmas Day.

I'm serving an early Christmas Eve dinner and have two grandchildren who spent the night here so I'm still somewhat busy. The dinner casserole is made and in the refrigerator. It's just a matter of cooking when the time comes and putting out snacks when the grown-ups arrive. Tonight after everyone leaves I need to make an elegance cheesecake and a pound cake for Christmas Day dessert.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and just plain peace on earth, good will to all!

Doing Christmas early sure relieves the pressure!

I am doing a turkey dinner, but just for dh and I, so no big worries. I do need to get it unfrozen so I can get the gibblets out and cook them today. I would like to not deal with that on Wed.

Today I am going to take my cross country skiis out for a bit, and then pick a pattern for ear warmers and start those.

It is a quiet day around here. I went to the bakery earlier and picked up various baked goods for the next few days. DH is making Christmas Eve dinner (my holiday), and we'll light the menorah first (his celebration).

Tonight I'm going to a 10 pm Christmas service. DH might tag along too.

I just made the cookie dough. Itís chilling in the fridge. I still need to parboil the potatoes for tomorrowís brunch. I have to wrap all the presents. I need to cut out and bake all the cookies. My hair needs to be colored. I need to iron my outfit for church. I need to vacuum my living room because there are pine needles everywhere. Yet I sit on the couch surfing PT.

Last minute tasks?
Nope, everything has already been taken care of, I'm very organized.

House already clean, all chores done, all Christmas preparations done!

Just joyfully relaxing now with relatives and kids doing Christmas art, adult Christmas themed puzzle on extra table, Christmas story time children's books set out to read, and Christmas Eve service tonight.

Happy Christmas Eve to everyone!

Today is ur travel day, but I have a few last minute things to take care of.

Post office to mail a package and last minute cards.
Grab chips and salsa from our local market.
Finish packing as I get myself ready.
Catch the neighbor to give her a key for feeding the cat.
Pack food, drinks, snacks.
Load the car.
Relax while DH does the driving.
Put together my pasta salad tonight.

Unfortunately I am unable to move from the sofa because the cat has decided to nap on my lap.

Howís your coffee?

We have Christmas tomorrow at my sisterís and my only thing to bring is my momís teapot and tea cups so we can have our Christmas cup of tea. We do it to celebrate a tradition my mom had. They are washed, packed and ready to go.

So today I just need to finish my exercising, shower, and go to 4:00 mass.

Then around 6:30 make a salad, garlic bread and sautťed shrimp for supper. I am sure we will have a few cocktails (as well as some cherry bounce ) and watch a Christmas movie or two. Pretty low keyed here.

Wishing everyone in PT land a Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah!

We had our prime rib dinner last night with our kids. I did chocolate fondue and it was a big hit. New tradition for me! We unwrapped gifts. Tonight we go to my parentís house. DIL is making our appetizer. Our son went to help his grandma make the lasagna. We pick names for this evening. Tomorrow, we will go to my brother and SILís house for brunch. (Not too thrilled about) On Sunday, we have family and friends for my momís birthday. Iím just hanging out until 3:00.

It is 10:24 p.m. and I still have to wrap all of the gifts. BTW...I just purchased them this morning. My house is a disaster. I am wavering between pulling an all-nighter or getting up super early to clean.

Today I shopped for gifts, bought groceries and got gas. I have made a cheesecake, a chocolate poke cake, 20 deviled eggs, potato salad, and I have a venison roast in the crock pot.

My back and legs are hurting and my Christmas spirit is running thin.
