If you got money or gift cards for Christmas what do you want to do with it? Is there anything really special you want ?

I got money for my grandpa and Iím just not sure what to do with it. Saving most of it... but I am getting a new pair of shoes.

I'm going to use a Target gift card for bluetooth earbuds (the kind with a cord for around the neck) and some cash for a hair color and highlights.

It depends. Sometimes I'll buy something special (especially if it was a gift from someone close), other times I'll use it to buy things I need thus freeing up more of my paycheck for saving or whatever. This year I'm getting a new kitten so I've been buying some supplies for him.

I'm getting a garbage can! It's a nicer simple human one for the kitchen. The joys of being an adult.

PEPteach - we have a simple human garbage can and I LOVE it! Finally a garbage can that Bentley cannot figure out how to open!

My mom gave us some money for Christmas. I used it to pay the down payment for our summer rental in August.

I do have a few small gift cards that I will be using to buy a pair of shoes. Just can't decide which shoes will look best with ankle pants AND come in a size wide enough

I have a kohlís card that will purchase a new coffee grinder.

I also have several hobby lobby cards which are going on ice for at least 3 months. I have enough yarn to last quite a while.

Pepteach, when I was done remodeling, I got 2 small Simple Human trash cans for the bathrooms. They are perfect and I love them.

No gift cards, but for the last 2 years (since Iíve become Mme. Walk5Miles), I go to Macyís online after Christmas and order a bunch of supersale Nike exercise clothes.

I got many cards from students this year. Many families were incredibly generous! I'm thinking of using them at the end of the year for either gifts or a big party for them for my retirement (which they do not know about yet)

I got some MasterCard giftcards from a couple of my students. I cleaned out some of my VERY old makeup and made a couple splurges at Ulta. Got some good Tarte concealer, a new eyelash curler, and a nice bronzer/blush/highlighter pallete from It Cosmetics. I NEVER buy high end cosmetics, but with 50 right around the corner, I figured I'd treat myself.

I got money and gifts cards. I saved most of it, but did get:

doTerra essential oils - HOliday blend and new green mandarin (will rtn latter)

foot soak tub - I have a plug-in bubbling foot tub, but I need a plastic container to soak my feet

Jean Nate' after bath splash - I used this as a pre-teen/teen so it's for nostalgia purposes & has a nice scent!

sound machine

bras & panties

Native all-natural deodorant I'll try

wallet

pants and top

eyeliner

I bought myself a 0 degree Big Agnes sleeping bag and a pair of SmartWool merino leggings. I got gift cards to REI; my class gave me $250 and my Secret Santa gave me a $50 gift card...it made a big dent in the bill!

I bought an iPad with an Amazon gift card that I got for Christmas from my family. I got a ton of gift cards for Target from students that I'm going to use for a new area rug.

DH and I both got Walmart gift cards from Mom's BF. We usually avoid Walmart because the one closest to us is a hot mess. We took our cards with us when we did travelling the other day and went to a different Walmart where we bought general household stuff combining both of our cards.

We got cash from my mom, and we put it in our mad-money jar. There are a couple of places here in town that only take cash, which we rarely have. We try to keep money in the jar for those things.

My mom gave us money that was earmarked for new winter tires. The rest is going to pay down some debt. Money given to the kids is going in their RESP.

I spent a bit of one gift card on some fabric for a sewing project. I'll save the rest and the Michael's cards for my next crafting binge. I got some clothing gift cards that I am saving for when I go back to work.

DH had to return a couple of my gifts so he has promised to buy me a few things I wanted that I didn't get - scrapbooking stuff and a Harry Potter diaper clutch.
