I have read that lemon water is very good for you. You are supposed to drink it first thing on an empty stomach each morning. If you have tried this or it is part of your routine please tell me what you think.

I used to always put lemon wedges in my water bottle that I drink from all day long. My dentist then advised me to be careful because the acidity can ruin your teeth. I think you would be fine having one glass in the morning and then rinse your mouth put with plain water to avoid any dental issues.

I think I will give it a try. Warm sounds good for first thing in the morning.

DH and I both like lemon water. We use bottled lemon juice, not real lemons. Easier to find locally.

I used to drink lemon water when I wanted to get more vitamin c in my diet.

My dentist warned to drink it with a straw to limit the contact with my teeth. She also told me to rinse with water afterwards and not brush my teeth for about an hour after.

However, I eat enough fruits and vegetables and drink enough water so lemon water does not really have any benefits for me.

Every morning, I squeeze the juice of half a lemon into a cup of very warm water and drink it.

This is not a new idea. Edgar Cayce first recommended doing this in the early 1900s. (He died in 1946). He said the lemon juice cleanses and stimulates the gall bladder and also starts contractions in the intestines to ensure good elimination. Works like a charm.

Also, at least in this part of the country, gall bladders are removed on a regular basis. I am 70 and no problems with gall bladder or elimination.

As for worrying about acidity, according to Edgar Cayce, the ash of lemons and oranges is not acidic, it is alkaline. Sounds counter-intuitive, but it is a fact. I still have nearly all of own teeth (except for some lost in my early twenties, due to bad dentistry, which have bridgework) and have not had a cavity since 1985. So nothing to worry about in terms of the "acidity."

Read up on Edgar Cayce's other remedies. He also originated the castor oil packs.
