Starting to get ready

I am going to start my student teaching in about 2 1/2 months and am trying to gear up and be prepared i believe I will be in 4th grade, is there anything I can do to help be prepared regardless of where I actually get placed? I will be in California and I am starting to become very intimidated, as i have been in a fast program and it is feeling like a bit of a whirlwind.

Suggestions anyone?

Help anyone?

Thanks so much

Honestly, there wasn't anything that really could prepare me. You really don't know until you are in it how to organize yourself and what you will need. I am in 4th grade right now. I would familiarize yourself with your state standards for each subject. That would help. Try to buff up on all of the information you may be teaching, etc. And when you do start student teaching, work as much ahead as possible and have your coop approve everything. It will get overwhelming. It has for me. I love teaching, but a career at wal mart looks awful good right now!
