Resume Ideas

We have a snow day tomorrow! YAH! Anyway, I'd like to work on my resume!

I have a lot of extra experience. I have served on TONS of committees and taken on tons of leadership roles. I think these experiences will help set me apart. I'd like to find a creative way to include them in my resume, rather than just listing them. I was thinking of switching up the whole resume format and doing something unique. Ideas or thoughts?

The value of the hours you spent on committee work is in what knowledge and skills you gained and in how those contributed to student learning. Try a functional resume. My DH did one years ago, moving from teaching and admissions counselor into a business job. Apparently it worked. I think you could do something similar within education also.

I just had to submit an updated resume to my district because I won an award and am being forwarded on as our district candidate. I tried to make it as impressive as I could!

I started with my degrees and certifications. Then a list of awards, and major trainings I have attended.
Then I had a section that listed building and district leadership roles I have held. And last was the traditional jobs w/descriptions part. I also included lots of leadership types things I do in that section.

Not super unique, but straightforward, easy to read and showed my experience.

I actually just redid my resume a few months ago and decided to purchase a template off of ETSY. I've been really happy with hour it turned out.

This is where I got mine, but there are a TON on there that you can choose from: https://www.etsy.com/shop/GetLanded?ref=search_shop_redir ect
