My class and I have found a new love and it's Mystery Skype. We've done 6 this year and I think they're 5-1 (not that we're counting ). We won today and I answered my class phone "Mystery Skype Rockstars". I usually answer it "Grand Central Station".

The class thought that was awesome.

Sounds intriguing! Can you explain a little more about how it works? Is it just other classrooms or do you skype with special speakers?

We connect with classrooms across the country and ask each other questions to guess what state theyíre in.

How does this work? It sounds like something I would definitely take advantage of.

I find classes to Skype with on my teacher FB page and on G+ Mystery Skype forum. The kids as yes/no questions until they guess the state. It's a lot of fun and the kids have gotten much better at asking and answering questions because of it.

Well Iím on the Not So Wimpy 3rd grade FB page for 3rd grade teachers. She has groups for other grades, but there are FB pages out there for all grade levels. I set up most of my Skypes through the G+ community. Thatís awesome because itís all over the world. Iím trying to set up a Skype with a class in another country but the time difference is brutal.
