Actually I get to go swimming with my friend this afternoon for a bit then at 3pm, it goes down!
Just looking at that jug of powder wants to make me gag but I'm going to have a positive attitude and try to remember at this time tomorrow, everything will be done!
By the way, this is my first time having the procedure.
Good luck. I had mine 3 weeks ago. It seems each dr has a different prep. Mine was really easy. One word of advice. STAY CLOSE TO A TOILET...THERE MAY BE NO WARNING
Sounds eerily familiar. I had my second one last summer, and it was the jug of powder.
Actually I found it a little easier than my first one that involved Gatorade, Fleet, and other stuff. I really cannot stand Gatorade. I found myself actually gagging and I went to the appt admitting I could not get that last quart of Gatorade down.
Last summer my pharmacist gave me a GREAT idea to help get it down: use a smoothie type of straw and place the straw farther back in your mouth. It helps to bypass most of your tastebuds. And it really did help! I will take the jug of powder over Gatorade any day.
I had my second colonoscopy last year. If you give yourself a little treat, it may help you tonight as you prep. Each time I set myself up with a special treat. The first time I treated myself to a pedicure. The second time I got a massage and bought a new dress!
Oh... and stay close to the bathroom!
Everybody has to do this. It is really not so bad. Do not eat much the two days before and it is way easier. Not a lot of fiber for at least a week. This helps tremendously. You will be fine.
I had my 2nd one a few weeks ago. It's MUCH better than it used to be! I mixed the powder with white Gatorade and it wasn't bad at all! I used a straw to make it easier, too.
I had one about 3 years ago to rule out an issue. I have a lot of anxiety about vomiting, so I made the build-up to my prep worse than necessary. I really didn't have any trouble aside from being hangry. I was so worried about feeling ill from the drink I didn't pause to think about feeling unwell due to lack of eating. I drank a lot of gatorade, water, and ate popsicles. I didn't experience any nausea nor did I have any difficulty getting the drink down.
When I was waking up from my procedure I was in a little curtained area and my husband was sitting at the foot of my bed working on his laptop. I don't remember saying it, but apparently I insisted he come over to my bed so I could make sure it was really him. I said, "Lean down here and let me touch your beard, I can't see clearly." He obliged and my vision finally focused and I could tell it was actually my husband and not an imposter.
