Reason for leaving school?

What is the best answer when asked this in an interview? I'm pretty sure my principal is leaving. If I can't go with her (if there aren't any jobs there) I'm going to look for a new position closer to home. In truth, I wouldn't be likely to job hunt if my principal wasn't leaving. Really the school drives me nuts but I like the P. If she leaves I think I'll go crazy there! I ended up at that school because I was bumped out of my job due to seniority. I've been there less than a year (left in March for maternity leave) so I'm not very attached to the school and don't feel like I owe it to them to stay. What do I give as my reason? Is it acceptable to say I'm leaving because the principal is? Or best to just stick with, "I'm looking for something close to home."

It's best just to stick with, "closer to home." Keep it short and sweet whenever possible.

Closer to home is a better answer.
