Yuk turkey bacon!!!

You can have your turkey bacon. My daughter is cooking some now. She is raving about how much she loves it and all I can think is how much it really stinks. How can anyone tolerate the smell to eat turkey bacon? Better yet, how does one get bacon from a turkey anyhow?

It helps if you wrap it in real bacon.

We always eat turkey bacon.

It's not as good as regular bacon, but we just think of it as something different than bacon. It's not bad. DH has really high cholesterol, and I'd rather eat turkey bacon than keep allowing it to go higher. The trick with turkey bacon is to not get it quite as crispy as you would regular bacon.

I told my daughter not to burn that bacon because it stunk enough without burning it. She is the queen of burnt food.

You think turkey bacon is bad? I accidentally bought turkey pepperoni when I was making pizza. It was horrible ! I tried to doctor it up, but that didn't help. Even the dog wouldn't eat it!

I like turkey pepperoni and turkey bacon. I don't eat lots of pork. I have the occasional blt but switched to turkey bacon and pepperoni because of the lower fat content.

If it tastes good, spit it out. Instead of substituting the desired bad food with some imitation, either stop eating the bad food or eat it in moderation on rare occasions. I find that I do this also.

I only buy turkey bacon and turkey pepperoni for my house and I like both as much if not more than the regular version. Like a PP, I also don't eat a lot of pork. I eat a lot more poultry. I do eat regular bacon in restaurants, but I will only eat it if it's extra crispy. I avoid regular pepperoni as much as possible, but since I'm picky about pizza, I will eat it if it's the only option.

I like turkey bacon and turkey pepperoni just fine. Not quite as good as the "real" thing, but still pretty good.

I buy turkey bacon from The Fresh Market. It's a chain of smaller grocery stores. It is nitrate-free, and I think it is delicious. To me, it smells fine.

as you get older, and your cholesterol level starts to catch up with you, you have to either decide you like certain tasteless things, or starve. I eat cardboard waffles (Nutrigrain, low fat, high fiber) with a scraping of low fat margarine every morning, with a couple of slices of turkey bacon. We eat baked chicken, baked fish, baked potatoes, and low fat mayo, low fat sour cream, and 1% milk. Do I love it? No, but if I want to stay healthy, that's what I eat. And I learn to think it tastes okay. There's not really a choice.

For some reason, turkey has a very metallic taste to me. Anyone else experience this?

I can't eat it.

I tried Butterball Ready-cooked, microwave turkey bacon! OMGOSH!! It's delish! I have 5 slices (only 2 WW points!) for B'fast everyday.

Crispy, bacon-y, and fast.

Try it~!
