I need an amazing writing lesson for my evaluation next week. What suggestions do you have?

Play-doh to teach writing process

Iíve had great success with this idea posted by trexteach. I bought regular play-doh, thinking it would last, but it crumbled apart after a few days. We took pictures of the finished products.

Here is a discussion about the type of play-doh/modeling clay to use

I love using mentor texts. I use many of them to teach various concepts. One of my favorites is using the book, I Love You the Purplest and then having them create their own color poems.
This is a writing fix lesson...I can't post the link but you can go to the site for the lesson and MANY MANY others. I love this site! You can find this book and they are student examples and templates.

I have to agree with Tatum's post about Writing Fix. This past month I focused on "Show, Don't Tell" and found 3 anchor lessons that took several days to complete. Check it out....there's MANY from which to choose!

There is a fantastic teacher-blog post that has everything you would need to teach writing about how to make a coke float, with many awesome documents to accompany it. I can't write a description to give it justice!
