Don't change your Google password - even if you get a message telling you to do so!! I am so careful about emails/friend requests/messages that look like spam, but this afternoon I got on my computer and a notification popped up that I needed to change my Google password to something more secure. So I did. I almost instantly got a notification that my account had been disabled due to suspicious activity. I called our school tech guy in a panic. He had me text him from my phone and then he was able to reactivate it with my original password. I had some weird emails when I opened my account again but deleted them immediately. I tried to open my email from my phone later and Google disabled it once more, so we had to totally change my password. I asked my tech guy how to know if a password change request was legit or not, and he said Google would never ask. So now you know!!!

Wow! I am very distrustful and think just about everything is a scam. But I probably would have fallen into this trap! Good to know. Thanks!

Glad your tech guy was able to help you! It is so crazy now that Iím afraid to trust anything I get in email or texts.
